Gutter has pulled away from fascia
Aluminum Soffit and Fascia

Soffit & Fascia

The fascia board is a piece of wood that is located behind your gutter. A gutter is normally installed and secured to this fascia board which catches the rainwater that falls of the roof. The fascia board is the long straight piece of wood that travels at the bottom of your roof. Also commonly referred to as a roof line. Underneath the gutter and connected to the fascia board is where the soffit wood is located. If you stand under your gutter and look up, that is where your soffits are located. These areas are normally painted to match the gutters or trim color that you have on your home. The paint provides a little bit of protection to the wood as over time with the rain , ice, and snow can cause damage to your fascia and soffit wood. When your fascia begins to rot it disrupts the pitch and installation of your gutter and does not allow the gutter to flow properly. typically every 3 to 5 years the soffit and fascia areas should be scraped and repainted. Soffit and fascia can be made from aluminum and vinyl. Aluminum and vinyl soffit and fascia provides a maintenance free option for your home and saves you money.

Installation

We begin by removing the gutters from the home, this is the area that the aluminum or vinyl fascia are installed to. We need to inspect your wood soffit and fascia areas for damaged wood or existing mold. All repairs and cleaning should be made before installation. We dont want to just cover up mold or rotted wood. One of the first steps is to install a J - Channel. The soffits are installed into the U shaped channel and secured to the bottom of the fascia boards. The aluminum or vinyl fascia is an L - shaped bent aluminum product that covers the fascia board and covers the end where the soffits are installed.
